With the rise of green initiatives, low-carbon and eco-friendly practices have become unavoidable topics for enterprises worldwide. As countries introduce increasingly stringent green trade standards, manufacturing that is low-carbon, recyclable, and environmentally responsible will emerge as a core competitive advantage for future business growth. Dongguan Dexin Metal Co., Ltd. has actively embraced the global sustainable development trend by proactively advancing the upgrade of green materials. Since launching a dedicated research and development project last year on recycled carbon steel, we began with small-scale trials using recycled raw materials. After multiple rounds of joint material development, in-house prototyping, and process optimization, we have successfully developed and launched our first high-recycled-content fastener product—leveraging manufacturing innovation to support the construction of a global green supply chain. I. Seizing the Global Low-Carbon Opportunity: Launching Recycled Steel R&D As overseas markets tighten ESG procurement requirements and carbon reduction mandates, traditional primary steel production models struggle to meet the demands of global expansion. In response, we proactively initiated research into low-carbon solutions, embracing change and confronting challenges head-on. To open up green export channels and fulfill our environmental responsibility as a manufacturer, we launched an investigation and development program focused on recycled steel. We conducted on-site assessments of the entire process—from recycled carbon steel smelting to wire rod processing—to evaluate the feasibility of using recycled steel in fastener production. After identifying suitable general-purpose carbon steel feedstock and mainstream wire rod specifications, we finalized the model for our first trial fastener and officially advanced into pilot testing of recycled materials.
II. Overcoming Core Challenges Through Iterative Prototyping
We collaborated with upstream steel suppliers to conduct multiple small-batch trials, establishing a comprehensive testing system covering raw material intake, production processes, and final electroplating. Key performance indicators—including chemical composition, hardness, tensile strength, product dimensions, and corrosion resistance—were thoroughly evaluated. While the base physical and chemical properties, dimensional accuracy, and corrosion resistance of the recycled steel met production standards, inconsistencies in the composition of recycled raw materials led to cracking at the head of finished products—a critical barrier to large-scale production.
Our R&D team worked closely with steel suppliers to simultaneously optimize raw material refining and purification processes, wire rod rolling techniques, and internal cold-heading molds and production parameters to reduce forming stresses in recycled materials. After several rounds of iterative improvements, the cracking defect was significantly reduced, enabling successful completion of full-scale development and validation for our first high-recycled-content, low-carbon fastener.

Producing goods with a high proportion of recycled steel dramatically reduces carbon emissions across the product lifecycle, effectively lowering the carbon footprint and meeting global customers’ demand for low-carbon procurement. By maintaining cost control, we have achieved stable, scalable production of green products, laying a solid foundation for future mass production of diverse recycled-material offerings.
III. Building a Green Product Portfolio to Support Sustainable Global Expansion
Low-carbon circularity has now become a key entry criterion in international trade. Developing recycled steel products not only represents an internal environmental upgrade but also enhances our competitiveness in the global market. Leveraging our independently developed recycled-material fasteners, we can provide overseas partners with low-carbon, recyclable Metal components, helping them achieve their supply chain decarbonization goals. With differentiated green products, we are better positioned to comply with various national green trade regulations, expanding our global market presence. At the same time, by promoting the use of recycled steel, we help reduce reliance on primary mineral extraction and energy-intensive smelting processes, cutting carbon emissions at the source and advancing the principles of a circular economy.

IV. Long-Term Green Development Vision: Achieving Over 80% Recycled Content in Products Within 3–5 Years
The successful launch of our first recycled-material fastener marks a pivotal milestone in our green transformation journey. In line with our long-term sustainable development strategy, we have set clear medium- to long-term low-carbon goals: within the next 3 to 5 years, we will continuously expand the range of products compatible with recycled steel, covering the majority of our fastener product lines, and ensure that over 80% of our products are manufactured using high-recycled-content carbon steel, thereby establishing a comprehensive, full-category low-carbon product system.
Moving forward, we will continue to overcome technical challenges in adapting different wire specifications to recycled steel production processes, further improve the purity of recycled raw materials, stabilize the quality of recycled material products, and consistently reduce defect rates while optimizing the production costs of green products.
Looking ahead, we will deepen our innovation in recycled metal materials and strive to become a leader in green development within the fastener industry by offering reliable, low-carbon products.
